Who we are

The State Financial Officers Foundation is pleased to present:

Smart Women Smart Money (SWSM)

Our Mission: Smart Women Smart Money’s mission is to provide financial education and empowerment to women throughout the United States. We do this by providing conferences, podcasts, and SWSM Magazine which are made possible thanks to local and national sponsors.

Our vision is to be the premier organization bringing free financial education and financial freedom to women across the United States.

SWSM provides women of diverse ages and circumstances with the necessary information and tools to take control of their financial lives.  The message of this movement is that it is never too early, or too late to learn about finances.

Our Conferences

Along with hearing nationally renowned speakers and leaders, attendees also have the opportunity to choose breakout sessions that match up with each attendee’s individual comfort level. Sessions are offered at the beginner, intermediate, and advance skill levels and are taught by area experts. Right now our conferences are being offered virtually to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Registration is mandatory to attend the conference.

Our Magazine

Smart Women Smart Money Magazine is currently a quarterly publication that is free to the public. This is made possible thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and advertisers. Innovative content takes a cue from the spirit of our conferences: in short, you can learn principles of personal finance, build great relationships, and HAVE FUN while doing it!

See the digital version of SWSM Magazine online at www.SWSMMagazine.com.

Our Roots

Smart Women Smart Money was founded in 1999 by then Idaho State Treasurer Ron Crane. His vision and focus for this effort in his home state have led to over 40,000 women participating in the SWSM conference. We have heard countless stories of the positive impact of this conference — and we want to make sure we hear yours too! If you have an SWSM experience to share please email it to us at tellmystory@smartwomensmartmoney.com.

The State Financial Officers Foundation is now working to advance this effort in multiple states across the United States.
